Working to the sale room’s release process
Every auction house has its own rules for releasing a lot: payment cleared, a release note or collection authority, and sometimes a booked slot or a named porter. Send us the invoice or release details, the lot numbers and the sale room address, and we arrange the collection to fit.
Before the storage charges start
Many sale rooms allow a set period for collection and charge storage after it. Tell us the deadline when you first get in touch, so the collection is booked inside it. If time is short, our dedicated courier service can collect urgently, whenever the sale room is open.
Several lots, several sale rooms
If you bought several lots, or at more than one sale, list them all. We will say whether they make sense as one run, and pieces going to the same address can be delivered together.
For auction houses and sale rooms
If you run the sale, you can book us for buyers who ask you for a courier, or to bring consigned pieces in for a sale. Send the lot details, the release arrangements and the buyer’s or consignor’s address.
Lots going abroad
For a lot going to or coming from Europe, export and import paperwork comes into it, and some works need a UK export licence from Arts Council England. Tell us the destination when you book so it is settled before collection. See art and antiques to and from Europe.
